Management classes are designed for people preparing for a fast track in a variety of industries. "These are students with a clear vision of who they are and where they're going in their careers," explains Dr. Ron Rojas, an award-winning instructor of Management in the School of Business at AIU Online. "They recognize that an MBA with us will give them the right skills they need to take their place on a modern management team."

According to Dr. Rojas, "there are no 'typical' management students, but there are certain attributes that they all seem to have in common. For whether a pupil is a recent college graduate seeking to further his or her education, someone already in the workforce interested in career advancement or a member of the military preparing for a transition into civilian life, all share a high level of personal discipline, eagerness to learn, an appreciation of technology, and an entrepreneurial spirit."

Certainly Dr. Rojas himself has displayed all of these qualities during his own career. After earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, he served four years with the United States Air Force as a Communications Engineer. Completing his MBA at Southern Illinois University, he accepted the position of Associate Professor and Chairman of the Management and Marketing Department of Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Transitioning into a business career, he served as a Quality Manager for several large companies and eventually established his own consulting firm, PRISM Leadership Consulting Group. Throughout his career he has also served in the Air Force Reserve and recently retired as a Colonel.

Dr. Rojas holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Sarasota. His academic credentials include a graduate Health Services Administrator certificate and various other graduate courses taken at Air University, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.

All of these experiences not only add to the expertise Rojas brings to his classes, they also enable him to "connect" with a very wide range of students. "My portfolio includes electronic manufacturing, educational, military and even non-profit sector experience, and my 30 years in the military has taken me to many places in the United States and abroad. Consequently, I have a depth of opportunity in which to frame class topics and effectively respond to student questions."

"Whatever their goals," continued Dr. Rojas, "students find that the real life scenarios featured in our management program give them a greater understanding of how to deal more effectively in the current corporate environment. This alone makes pursuing an education in this discipline at AIU Online more valuable than that achieved in a tradition setting."

In addition, Dr. Rojas feels that the level of interaction between online students is more intense than those attending traditional campuses. After all there are no miles, no walls and no time constraints separating people. New ideas, ways to solve problems and feedback can be exchanged more freely and at any time. And this experience in developing and building interpersonal relationships via electronic media will help students stand in good stead in the evolving global business environment.
