I would like to take a moment to talk about my experience with my AIU Online Career Services Advisor. Following graduation, I had been tackling the daunting task of obtaining a position in line with my newly developed skills. I enrolled in the BFA program in Visual Communications as a mid-life career change. Needless to say, I found myself competing for jobs with much younger candidates, which can be very daunting.

The Career Services Advisor took the time to review my resume. For me, the toughest assignment was creating a good cover letter. The Career Services Advisor helped to transform my very rough draft into a magnificent cover letter - well worded and very professional. The advisor has kept in touch with me weekly and sent me many job leads in line with my chosen career path, even when I have not been in touch with them faithfully. While I am registered at many job-search web sites and look daily for new positions, the advisor still manages to send me information on positions I had not found, expanding my possibilities for obtaining employment. The career services advisor offers encouragement, continuing advice, and kind words, all of which are priceless during this stressful time.
