Early in 2003, I relocated to another state and began looking for a new career. I applied to several corporations without much success and was having a hard time adjusting to the move. I wound up being forced to take a low-level position with below-minimum pay.
I had taken business courses in the past, but quickly realized I needed an accelerated program to enhance my position. After careful research, I transferred to American Intercontinental University (AIU) Online. The courses were interesting, challenging, and motivating, which helped me to earn my Associate's degree with honors! I graduated in December 2003. I enjoyed AIU Online so much that I continued on with their Bachelor's program.
A lot has happened since I graduated in 2003. The first thing I did was utilize AIU Online's Career Services department in the hopes to update, simplify, and create a professional resume. Fortunately, I was able to communicate with the assistant director of Career Services. She provided in-depth communications on achieving this goal, and with her assistance, I was able to develop a high-quality resume for circulation in my immediate community.
With new resume in hand, I quickly began researching top-level corporations. My very first choice was an extremely large financial institution. I applied online and was contacted the next day for an interview. My Career Service Advisor provided me with possible interview questions, and we discussed the interview scenario in detail. Talk about going above and beyond! Her assistance made the real interview process much easier, and I was hired on the spot! I have now been working for this financial institution for a year, and the opportunities for growth are never-ending. Thank you AIU Online for helping me to achieve what I have to date, and for allowing me unlimited academic growth possibilities.
