I have worked in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years as a medical assistant. Not long after I began this career, information technology appeared more and more in the healthcare field. This was something that I was immediately drawn to. With each new position that I would apply for, I was gaining experience in working with the computer aspect of healthcare. I reached a point at which I realized without returning to school, I might never be able to attain the type of position that I really wanted. I researched a variety of online degree programs, and found that AIU Online was one of the most responsive and seemed to have my interests at its core.

Everyone that I have had the privilege of dealing with at AIU Online has been supportive, resourceful and encouraging. Working full-time in a large medical office, having a family, and attending classes requires a large portion of determination, fortitude and self discipline, as well as the support from the instructors and advisors at AIU Online when occasional issues would arise.

I have recommended the degree programs at AIU Online to a number of people. One of the RN's that I work with has already made contact with AIU Online to begin classes for her MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She has seen some of the documentation that I have received from AIU Online for support and also the excellent information that I received in assisting with resume completion, tips to help in the interview process, and providing insight into what employers might be looking for when they ask particular questions.

Armed with this arsenal of education, information and support, I began searching for a new position. Just prior to my graduation, I was able to accept a position as an Implementation and Training Specialist for a company that contracts electronic medical records and clinic billing software.
